Niedzica
is a village on the South part of
malopolska province, which is situated
by the Dunajec River, Pieniny border
and Spisz - Gubalowka foot - hills.
During
1320 - 1330 the Berzevics family built a
castle named Dunajec. The Castlewas
to protect a trade route from Hungary to
Poland. As for the Niedzica Castle it's
not as destroyed as the Czorsztyn Castle.
The Niedzica Castle has been untouched so
far and you can visit it if you want. The
Historians of Art Association is the owner
of the Niedzica Castle at present. Inside
the Castle you can find a House of a
Creative Work with a restaurant and the
museum on other floors.
Lokis
Hotel lies at the foot of the Pieniny Mountains, in the community of Niedzica at the
Czorsztyn Lake developed in result of the construction of the dam at the Dunajec river, in the period 1975 - 1997. Tourists can find
interesting attraction: the boat station for raft ride in the Dunajec river
canyon, pleasure boat, beach and others.
Ruins
of a king castle. There are ruins of a
king castle on the left shore of the
Czorsztyn Lake. Archaeologists claim that
the castle is from XIII century. The
castle was built on the trade route from
Krak6w to Buda and it prevented the
Hungarian colonies to cross the Dunajec
River. Nowadays we can only admire
picturesque ruins of the castle which are
by the shore of the Lake.
Pieniny
are very attractive place for people who love to ski.
From year to year there are build more and more ski resorts
with professional ski - ways. The biggest are in
Kluszkowce (Wdzar), Szczawnica (Palenica and Szafranowka),
and Niedzica (Polana Sosny). Czorsztyn-Ski in Kluszkowce is
a very modern ski - recreation centre. You can find there
three ski - lifts, and one chair - lift, and five machines
for making artificial snow. All the time the ways are
prepared by the special machines. There are three ski -
lifts with lights on the Polana Sosny. So you can ski in the
night. If you like very slip snow you can choose one of five
routes with different levels of difficulty. If you want to
lend ski you may do it in the hiring - establishment at the
bottom of the ski - lift. There is also a restaurant so you
can eat something during a little break from your skiing. If
you like to run on your ski you will find a special 8 - km
route at the top of ski - lift. There
are also ski - lifts for beginners and advanced skiers close
to the border in Niedzica
